Ever wondered how some people got into drugs?

Well, let’s look at 50 Cent. He was born as Curtis James Jackson III in 1975, in the South Jamaica community of Queens in New York City. Her mother Sabrina was a cocaine addict and sold the same. She gave birth to 50 Cent when she was 15 years. She was killed in drug shootings at the same place. 50 cent went to live with his grandmother who had nine children. He took to the streets, got gun and started selling crack. He missed school and was put in juvenile jails. 50 Cent used music as a turning point after being shot nine time.

The story of 50 Cent seems as the easy one. Others have a different kind of story…

Blake Nelson has authored one of the best books on recovery from addiction. The book, Recovery Road has been adapted into a TV series that tries to educate teenagers and adults who have fallen into addiction and are in the recovery stages. One of the most elemental things about the book is that it highlights the hard work that goes on before someone recovers. It shows the relapses, the tears, friends, enablers, broken families, people giving up, people who will never give up and the real work in rehabilitation centers.

The book can be bought from Amazon
