4 Major Recovery Principles

Recovery is not something that will happen overnight. It is a process. It is journey. I really want everyone to embrace the fact that it will take time. More time than anticipated.

There are four principles of recovery

  1. Purpose– Life is for the living. While at it-make sure that you serve others and help them live well. Do not live a life where you are dedicated to drugs and alcohol. Ensure that your mental a and physical health is at its peak. Serve yourself, live well and serve humanity.
  2. Health– Never take your physical and mental health for granted. You need to be healthy to ensure that you live well and for long. Your mind and body should be stable. Undertake the process with the aim that it will restore your health to proximal levels.
  3. Home– Have a safe place to live. Home is actually where you can erect boundaries and live happily.
  4. Community– One of the most important aspects of life is relationships. During addiction, most relationships get strained a lot. Repair them with love. Hold those who never gave up on you closer.
